This is your chance to meet professionals from the food sector, there to share their passion with you and exchange ideas, in a relaxed, leisurely atmosphere. The presentations treat history, culture, science, and buzzworthy topics in the world of food. The evening is then rounded off with drinks and nibbles prepared by our chefs.
It’s party time at our FoodAcademy! Adults and children aged 9 and over can come and celebrate their birthday at the Alimentarium. Everyone gets the chance to put on an apron and create a speciality based on the current theme of the Skills to Savour workshop. But that’s not all! At the end of the activity, everyone can enjoy a slice of birthday cake freshly baked by our chefs and served in the Verrière.

On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, bring your class to the Museum to
create specialities based on a monthly theme specially chosen by our
chefs. Let your pupils delve into the fascinating world of food and
nutrition by adding a tour of the permanent exhibition, with a guide or at your own discretion.
Times: Tuesday and Thursday from 14:15 to 15:15 / from 15:45 to 16:45 Price: Flat fee of CHF 120.00 for 12 participants Age: from 9 years
The Alimentarium restaurant hosts Skills to Savour workshops run by a
professional chef, an opportunity for individuals and groups to discover
new skills, specialities and recipes which nourish their senses and
feed their curiosity. Every afternoon, come along and create
specialities based on a monthly theme specially chosen by our chefs.
Times: During public and school holidays, from Tuesday to Friday, from 15:00 to 16:00 Price: CHF 30.00 per participant Age: from 9 years
The Alimentarium and the Swiss Museum of Games are joining forces to
offer children aged from 6 to 12 a day packed with fun activities and
culinary discoveries around a common theme. The day begins at the
Alimentarium, with a cookery workshop at the JuniorAcademy. The afternoon is devoted to discovering games and activities focusing on the morning’s theme.
Times: Parents leave their children at the Alimentarium at 10:30 and pick them up from the Swiss Museum of Games at 15:00 Price: CHF 45.00 per participant Age: 6-12 years
The afternoon begins with a cookery workshop in the Alimentarium JuniorAcademy.
After making some delicious specialities, an activity leader
accompanies the group of children to the Swiss Camera Museum. The rest
of the afternoon is devoted to the magic lantern as the children
discover the world of photography.
Times: Parents drop their children off at the Alimentarium at 13:30 and pick them up from the Swiss Camera Museum at 16:00. Price: CHF 35.00 per child Age: 6-12 years
Just like real chefs, children cook in their own work space with
made-to-measure utensils. On the other side of the counter, Museum
activity leaders show them how to make specialities to take home. An
enjoyable and taste-filled afternoon that encourages children to develop
and express their culinary talents.
Times: Tuesday and Thursday from 13:30 to 15:30 Price: fixed price of CHF 240.00 for 24 participants + 2 accompanying adults Age: 6-12 years
The party starts in the Junior Academy kitchens where each child makes a
small cake to take home. Then, with the help of their parents, the
children make the most of their afternoon together and set off to
discover food and nutrition through games. Afterwards, everyone gets
together in an area especially decorated for the occasion to enjoy a
birthday cake freshly baked by the chef leading the activity. At the end
of the afternoon, each child leaves with the speciality they created
and plenty of happy memories!
Times: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 14:00 to 16:00 or from 15:00 to 17:00 Price: fixed price of CHF 300.00 for a group of 12 children (seasonal birthday cake and drinks included) Age: 6-12 years, 12 participants
Split into two groups, the pupils spend a hands-on morning full of
surprises: While some concoct a recipe with our chefs, the others
improve their knowledge of food and nutrition in our themed interactive
discovery areas, supervised by their teacher. Then, the two groups swap
over giving each child the chance to prepare their own dish.
At lunch time, everyone gets together around the table to share the meal, the highlight of a fun-packed morning.

greatest chefs! After a morning of culinary discoveries and experiments,
the budding chefs invite their families to a specially-reserved room in
the JuniorAcademy to enjoy a meal created entirely with their own fair hands.

The JuniorAcademy throws open its doors to
children and an accompanying adult to enjoy a workshop together. On the
menu...exploring different kinds of food and discovering a recipe to
concoct together. But, before donning their aprons, all our young and
grown-up chefs get a chance to find out more about food and nutrition
through a fun-filled activity in our interactive area.
